Learning search engine optimization can be overwhelming at first. There is a lot to wrap your mind around. But becoming proficient in SEO is definitely an achievable undertaking. The meta keywords tag allows you to provide additional text for search engines to index along with the rest of what you’ve written on your page. Meta keywords can emphasize a particular word or phrase in the main body of your text. It doesn’t take hundreds to see the needle move, especially with Google’s ever-improving ability to detect low quality and manipulative links. The cornerstone of a successful organic search campaign has always been technical SEO.
Keywords are used by search engines as an indication as to what a page is offering
In today’s SEO, high-quality and relevant backlinks have the most value.
But how do you build good backlinks?! Do the main pages of the site have enough content? Do these pages all make use of header tags? A subtler variation of this is making sure the number of pages on the site with little content is not too high compared to the total number of pages on the site. Google’s SEO Starter Guide states that, “If your URL contains relevant words, this provides users and search engines with more information about the page than an ID or oddly named parameter would.” In other words, including keywords – or at least clear and direct information – in your URL is a best practice. That makes a lot of sense for news sites, for example. Still, I recommend adding a meta description to all your important pages. Often, the best SEO strategy is to focus on long tail terms—search terms that are highly specific, relevant, and with strong buying intent.
