Using your focus keyword in the headline can also be a good idea, but don’t try too hard to include it. Use power words and avoid redundancy to create a clear and appealing result. Aim for a headline of 55-60 characters, as this is what Google will display on the SERP. Your goal should be to create links to individual posts/pages along with those leading to your homepage. Do not even expect to be on the first page of the Google if you believe in the theory that link building is an outdated concept. If you are using some paid services to get links to your site, you are likely going to be penalized by Google Penguin’s algo.
Build promotion into your content
Google’s Penguin 4.0 is now included in the core algorithm and is updated in real-time as of September 2016. Before this rollout, website owners waited years to recover rankings lost because of questionable SEO practices related to manipulating links. To prevent users from
linking to one version of a URL and others linking to a different version (this
could split the reputation of that content between the URLs), focus on using and referring to one URL
in the structure and internal linking of your pages. If you do find that people are accessing the same
content through multiple URLs, setting up a 301 redirect from non-preferred URLs to the dominant
URL is a good solution for this. The clear majority of websites gear their SEO strategy toward traditional search engine keyword searches carried out by typing. You can think of importance as a way to determine which page, from a group of equally relevant pages, shows up first in the search results, which is second, and so forth. The relative authority of the site, and the trust the search engine has in it, are significant parts of this determination.
Is Keyword Research Still Relevant?
The Internet is made up of trillions of pages that are all connected to one another with links. These links are how search engines “crawl” the web, using virtual
spiders (or bots). As these spiders follow the links on pages to other pages, they store information as they go. And they don’t miss a beat! From search terms to images and videos, these bots survey, collect and take note of any information they can get their spindly little hands on. SEO is the process
that brings traffic to a website, but if you can’t convert that traffic into a sale, email subscriber, etc., there is no point in having it in the first place. Internal backlinks essentially connect two pages or posts to each other. This can be done a couple of different ways – by text or image content. It is more common to link via text than images due to the fact that it flows more naturally. Google can’t infer or “make sense of pictures, colours or music.” So it needs help. Google needs help to recognise the things it cares about: inbound links that indicate your popularity, frequently used words, headings, bulleted and numbered lists, links, bolded, italicised and underlined words.
Keyword research has several advantages
If you want to get organic traffic to your blog post, first you need to decide what keywords you want to rank for. But instead of focusing on keywords with huge traffic, find long tail keywords with much lower search queries but also much lower competition. The “About Us” section is often the most overlooked aspect of a company’s website. Often all the focus is put on your services or products, as these are the pages which most often affect your search engine results. However, sometimes in the pursuit of SEO, we overlook the user’s experience. This commonly occurs on the “About Us” page because it is a more content heavy page of a website. Link building is still an effective way to up your website’s SEO and improve is search ranking. As opposed to the unethical link building efforts that could get you into trouble, effective link building tactics can help improve your brand’s online presence, get more website visitors, and start increasing sales. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "For anyone monitoring their traffic from Google, it’s not really a revelation that a single page can rank for hundreds (or even thousands) of relevant keywords."
Always Keep Your Client Up-to-Date with Your Progress
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) • is the process of affecting the visibility of a website in a search engine’s “natural” or “organic” (not paid for) search results. SERPs will get more
personalized and will take into account users’ interests, hobbies, location, search history, and certainly gender. SEO specialists will also have to take into consideration a greater amount of content-related factors such as its length, quality, TF-IDF, and its structure. As a general rule of thumb the more words in the query the easier it is to rank for that phrase. This is certainly not an absolute but has been the case for a majority of the terms I have worked with. *If you know of examples where this theory does not hold up, please share in the comments. Google’s algorithms are always changing and updating, and increasingly there is more and more focus on the user — with the search engines favouring quality content over poorly written, keyword-stuffed pages.
